You really don't know what you are talking about. Uh Huh Where did you live in the 50s, 60s and 70s? Did you really know anything about Calvert County before you moved there? When was that? That used to be "southern Maryland" when that meant something. Now it is just a bedroom community for DC. You even brag about how good the commuter service is. In the 60s and even the 70s, that was just the farm land you drove through when you were going to the beach. Of course I still remember when Maryland was "the free state". I doubt people hear that much anymore. |

Gee really It is the second worse county/city in Maryland, right behind Baltimore city. http://tinyurl.com/p5qdqvr That includes just about every category of violent crime In a couple of categories it is 3d. When it is #3, it is behind Baltimore county and Baltimore city. It is firmly in the #2 spot most of the time tho. If you took out PG and Baltimore, Maryland starts looking like Vermont. |

It kind of creeped us out. Might be because I am not comfortable in big cities. The last two years I was in the Navy I was stationed in Annapolis. We went to DC regularly, often to entertain house guests and/or relatives who had never been there. This was in 1975-1977. Never felt unsafe although there were sections of the city surrounding the Capital area that were "rough". Haven't been back since other than some business trips to the Pentagon and one weekend for Rolling Thunder. had never been there. |
