I mostly shoot standing up or from a bench, Tim. I prefer shooting
offhand and sometimes sitting down at a bench with the firearm on a
rest. I don't have a reason to plop down on the group and shoot.

Life's a bit different when you might get shot at. But, the lack of knowledge
exhibited by you and donne' is understandable.

"If you were getting shot at in Vietnam, it was because you deserved it."

Who was shooting at the Johnny when he was hiding out in the Officer's Club......or so far from front line action that he didn't even soil his uniform.

He's already shooting a foot off the ground and having to raise the rifle just to service the lever. I can shoot and cock a 303 Brit bolt action in prone with the barrel elevated about 5-6 inches or approx the height of your fist under the stock. and yes, your head is low. really low. and shots are good up to 150 yd.s

I can't operate a leaver at that height.

In fairness to Harry you are talking about combat shooting or hunting
and Harry just busts water bottles. They are real easy to sneak up on.

Indeed, I rarely find myself under attack by groundhogs and squirrels
100 or more yards away, and therefore have little need of dropping to
the ground so I can blow them away with a .303 bolt action rifle. Gosh,
how much of those tasty critters is left when you kill them with that .303?

Hey, I shoot more than sodapop bottles. I'm the proud 1/5th owner of
some steel targets and, of course, a slew of paper targets.

Do/did they make one? I have an inside source at the factory.

Well, aren't you special!
What do you do...send him a box of #8 Robinson screws on occasion.
Snerk...big time operator.

Never heard of a Robinson screw. I've heard of question marks - try
using them.

If networking is being special then - yes, I am. So are millions of
other people who leave their homes and venture into the world away from
their computer.

Cool. I have a .357 Blackhawk. I can't get discounts directly from
Ruger but if it's hard to find I can try to help John get his hands on one.

Ban idiots, not guns!

Did he really post "plop down on the group" or did you edit that?! Was
he referring to this group?

Yet another moronic comment without proper punctuation. Look it up.
Google it.

I don't either, but it's good to have that option. Think "Hawkins" position..
