Default Great metaphor

“Right now, the members of the Republican National Committee are
essentially the scientists in a movie realizing their creation has
escaped from the lab…”
Jimmy Kimmel

This, of course, is right after the terrified Republican National
Committee members in white lab coats, trapped behind glass with their
“creation,” are screaming for help as their nightmare rips them to
shreds.

Great metaphor on Kimmel’s part.

Oh, metaphor. Right, this is rec.boats. Sorry. Explanation:

"A metaphor is a figure of speech that identifies something as being the
same as some unrelated thing for rhetorical effect, thus highlighting
the similarities between the two."

Blaming the RNC for Trump is like blaming Patty Hearst for being
kidnapped.
The scary thing is that they are likely to join the gang after a while
.... like Patty.
We still have the best part of a year to shake this out.
Trump probably beats Sanders but if it gets to that, screw REM, E.O.W.

I was mainly commenting on Kimmel's metaphor.
And I do blame the GOP for its slate of horrific hopefuls, and that
includes Trump. If the GOP weren't so right-wing nutso, it might have a
couple of decent possibilities among the 17, 18, 16, et cetera. But,
hell, the #2 guy behind Trump is... Ben Carson, an absolute political
moron.

I do agree that if Trump is the nominee, the GOPers, all of them, will
support him.

Bear in mind at this time last cycle Rick Perry was on top and in
previous cycles guys like Pat Buchanan and Newt Gingrich were leading.
The democrats have had a few strange cycles themselves.

I will be "throwing my vote away" this time too if things don't get
better. I would rather vote for Donald Duck than Donald Trump.

I appreciate what you are saying here and I agree it is far too early to
even guess who the eventual nominee might be. The problem for the GOP is
that *all* of their frontrunners and most of their backbenchers suck,
big time.

Even for those who can't stand her, I think Mrs. Clinton is a far better
choice for POTUS than any of the Republican clown car occupants.

I would vote for Biden before I voted for Hillary or Sanders but Mr
Duck might still be my choice if that was all there was.

I do think we keep forgetting how old all of these Democrats are.

Not that it matters much but the GOP potentials just reduced by one.
Perry announced he is dropping out.

I'd also very much consider voting for Biden. I don't think he's going
to run though.

He's just a liar and plagiarist. But at least he's
not a Professor Moriarty, like HRC. Oh, the horror
if she won the Presidency. The horror.

Nice literary allusion from a quarter previously unsuspected.
