Wrong wife. Mine likes cutting stuff back.
This is the second week in a row that we put out a pile like this for
the hort guys. Those are 55 gallon drum liners, stuffed full.

Looks like a bunch of dead stuff. Here we're supposed to tie it in bundles, if we
want it picked up as part of normal trash day stuff. I go through a lot of plastic
bags with the leaves though.

My wife never trusted me to do any landscaping work in the 15 years
we've lived in this house ... or even mow the lawns. She felt more
comfortable paying a professional landscaper to do it all. I was
allowed to take care of the old "farm house" property when we owned it.

But this year (mainly because I don't have a lot to do) I convinced her
that I can do it. It gave me an excuse to buy a new John Deere riding
mower and a Husqvarna self propelled push mower (for the tight spaces)
for about what we were paying landscapers in 2-3 months.

I found the secret of pruning and trimming also. Just cut all the
bottom stuff off whatever the bush is so it looks like a small tree.

YOU TURKEY!

If I ever have a yard big enough, a John Deere will be my first purchase. I'm looking
at this one right now.

Don't want self-propelled. Need the exercise. I just noticed that Troy is selling it
for $6 less than Lowes. Probably have to pay postage though, and I sure wouldn't get
my 10% military discount.

We were out of town for two weeks and I asked the fellow who does our
snowplowing and heavy landscaping to come by in our absence and mow the
lawn. He did that and he also trimmed/pruned a few of our lawn trees.
He's "legal," but I am sure he has no use for Donald Trump.

I got the Husqvarna for about the same price at Lowes (on sale). Four
wheel drive, 22 inch. We have several individual lawns, some very
hilly. The four wheel drive is nice for where I can't use the rider.

Almost went with a Husqvarna rider as well but I have a bit of brand
loyalty. The bigger JD tractor has served us so well over the years,
from earth moving, digging and snow removal that I felt sorta funny
going with something else.

Wife swap for a bit?

Funny story, no, not about wife swapping.
I came home from work one day and my wife said, "can you get the lawn
mower down for me?" What? "it's caught on the fence". I walked into the
backyard and there is our 13.5 HP Craftsman Riding lawnmower standing
vertical against the chain link fence. Somehow she drove it right up the
fence, she fell off and it shut down. All 100lbs of her couldn't get it
down off the fence.
I got it down and made sure it worked, and being the caring husband
that I am, I told her to be more careful next time!

He helped turn rec.boats into a right-wing pigsty. What exists here is
his creation, and the creation of many of the remaining out of control,
snarling, snarky right-wingers. Out of control because they can't stop
themselves, and won't stop until the last three lefty to moderates are
gone. Then they can feed on each other. :)

Yet you are still here insisting that the guys in your yard are all
legal. How do you know?

I've got a "finish carpenter" handyman working in our half bath,
installing a new vanity, wainscoting, toilet, and light fixture. He's
not a Latino, but...how would I know if he is here legally? He might be
a Canadian or a multi-lingual European, eh? Hell, he could be a
Republican, and therefore someone determined to ruin 'Merica! :)

I don't ask people if they are here legally. I do know the landscape
contractor to whom I referred earlier in this thread is "legal," even
though I have never asked to see his papers. As for his employees, I'm
assuming they are legal, because their boss is very visible in the
county and he's a smart fellow. I doubt he would risk his livelihood by
hiring illegals. And, from what I recall, they are all blood relatives
or in-laws.

Determining the legality of workers is, as I stated, *not* my job.

Of course. His company does a lot of work in Southern Maryland. His

Do you take drugs for this ADD problem? We were talking about illegal
workers.

And once again, catching "illegal workers" isn't my job. Union
contractors have absolutely no interest in "happy homeowner" work around
here, so usually when you want something done, you ask friends and
neighbors and they recommend people who work reliably for reasonable prices.

That's how I found my landscape/snowplow guy about a decade ago.

This country hasn't been done in by Mexicans coming over the border for
hard work. It's been done in by the corporationists and the banksters

What's your point, Herring? There are only three posters here who are
moderate to left in politics. You and your scumbag bros have chased the
rest off with your relentless insults. As for the three you mentioned by
name. Cow disappeared totally from usenet one day and, according to
someone who was friendly with her in several other groups, may have
succumbed to a chronic illness she apparently had. Peggy left usenet,
too, and possibly for commercial conflict reasons. The woman from
Australia, well, she was a feisty lady for sure, but I always thought
she was a guy posing. I sure got a few laughs out of that patched up
diesel outboard some mechanic welded together for her. I'm about as far

weld a lot better than what was on display on that outboard of hers.

the
rest off with your relentless insults. As for the three you
mentioned by
I'm about as
far
as you can get from being an engine mechanic, but I sure could and can
weld a lot better than what was on display on that outboard of hers.

Which one was it, Peggy or Cow, that you stalked at the marina?

That was Mad Cow at the marina. He stalked Peggy at a trade show. I
wonder why he was too shy to introduce himself to the ladies when he had
the chance?

If you'd met him, you'd know.

More juvenile right-wing lies and bull**** from the former Navy guy too
dumb to get into any college and the former Army guy who was passed over
too many times for promotion to full colonel. The D'uh boyz.

Your memory is failing old boy. You showed pictures of Mad Cow's boat in
her slip. You told us about standing across the booth from peggy and
that you didn't want to interrupt the conversation she was having with
someone else. Couldn't wait a couple of minutes till she was free, eh?
And there was the time you posted a couple of photos of John's house.
Gotcha, stalker boy!

He helped turn rec.boats into a right-wing pigsty. What exists
here is
his creation, and the creation of many of the remaining out of
control,
snarling, snarky right-wingers. Out of control because they can't
stop
themselves, and won't stop until the last three lefty to
moderates are
gone. Then they can feed on each other. :)

Harry, when I got here, Peggy was here, Mad Cow was here, the lady
from Australia was
here, and a few others were here who have since departed. One
thing I noticed when I
arrived was that you were considered scum by most folks. That
aspect of rec.boats has
not changed.

I didn't create the climate, you did.

Now make up some more stories.

Not to mention posting a picture of my house which he snitched off of
Google maps. He should have posted a picture of the back side where
the very real boats are docked. :-)
