Default Take *that, Angela...

The Greek government has demanded that Germany pays it back €279bn
(£205bn) in loans Greece was forced to give the Nazi authorities who
occupied the country during World War Two.

Greece has long demanded reparations from Germany but in a statement on
Monday Greece’s deputy finance minister Dmitris Mardas put an exact
figure on the amount the country says it is owed for the first time.

Interesting concept. Maybe the US should go after some of our WWII
debt.

Putin would get ****ed.

No doubt. UK wouldn't be happy either.
Using the Greek logic we could go after Japan for all the ships they
sank and planes they shot down too. None of this will ever happen.

There is some concern that Putin might try to come to Greece's aid in
exchange for bases on the med but he is broke too. For that matter, so
is China. They may be in more trouble than the US was in 2009.
That is the real danger in all of this. China creates a new "Greece"
(economically) every couple months and they are having a debt problem,
just like we do.
Greece may just be the canary in the coal mine and that bird has been
dead for quite a while. I think the whole world economy is teetering
in the edge of a cliff and the whole thing is propped up by loans that
can never be paid back. The US is only surviving because we have
manipulated interest rates to virtually zero by printing money. That
is not sustainable.

Keep buying gold, I reckon.

The UK would probably ask for all the money from the Revolutionary War. Probably
charge us for Bonaparte's defeat also.
