Witchcraft and more...
On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer took a call from "Rebecca in
College Station, Texas" who shared her theory that the massive flooding taking place in Texas is God's punishment for "witchcraft and sodomy." As Rebecca explained, the only parts of Texas that are underwater are the parts "that are overrun with witchcraft and sodomy" like Austin and Houston, which has a "sodomite mayor." On the other hand, the area where Rebecca lives is not underwater, even though she lives in a valley, and that is because "we kicked out abortion" and the people who live there hold conservative views. "If God is judging Texas, it's because of the witchcraft and sodomy that we've allowed to run rampant," Rebecca said, and Fischer responded by agreeing that that was a very plausible explanation. http://tinyurl.com/ohaevge - - - - Plausible, I suppose, if you are a fundie christian or muslim, with an IQ somewhat south of 100... Christianity has a long and colorful history of destroying people, especially women, thought to be witches. About 50,000 people, mostly women, were executed in Europe as "witches" by christians between the 15th and 18th Centuries. Most of the 20 or so people executed as a result of the Salem witch trials were women. |

It's when christians push their religious or superstitious or hate-filled beliefs onto others, out in the commonweal, so to speak, that I take offense and push back. And these christians, especially in the backwards states, do push those beliefs...hardly a day goes by without being able to read or see some sort of religiously based evangelical outrage being shoved at the general public at the local, state, or even federal levels. And I am not writing about sensible, societal beneficial beliefs, such as "Thou shall not kill," and suchlike. And, once again, I don't object to religious people espousing their beliefs from the pulpit or even on a soapbox...if a Catholic priest wants to publicly state that "birth control is wrong," well, that's his right. But, to try to push that belief into the public's law, well, that's shoveling religion at the public, and I think that is wrong, and should not be allowed, not under our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Yes, I do enjoying pointing out the small-minded foibles of "the religious," as it relates to their pushing their "anti" beliefs onto everyone. |

Yet it's OK for thugs like you to go into peoples homes and push your threatening, intimidating, violent gospel upon prospective membership and their families. So hypocritical and bigoted of you. -- Respectfully submitted by Justan Laugh of the day from Krause "I'm not to blame anymore for the atmosphere in here. I've been "born again" as a nice guy." |

As Rebecca explained, the only parts of Texas that are underwater are the parts "that are overrun with witchcraft and sodomy" like Austin and Houston, which has a "sodomite mayor." On the other hand, the area where Rebecca lives is not underwater, even though she lives in a valley, and that is because "we kicked out abortion" and the people who live there hold conservative views. Witchcraft! :) Who is on the other end of the odd thinking spectrum from Rebeca? FOAD! :) Mikek That's right, Mikey...I think biblical retribution from god is religious bull**** and burning "witches" was one of the ways Christians attempted to control women. Er, Harry Men and women were both burnt and in Salem both men and women were drowned. That kinda knocks down the 'control' theory. You really ought to look into stuff before posting sometimes. Besides, your labeling of Christians doesn't really hold water in this pretense. I mean, that's like labeling all Christian's by the actions of the Westborians. Contrary to popular belief and myth, women suspected of being a witch in Salem were not burned at the stake. They were either stoned or hanged. Seems to me that Harry is scraping the bottom of the barrel for material lately. Who's "Rebeca" anyway? Someone who called in to a radio talk show? "Rebecca" is, apparently, a Texas who called into Bryan Fischer's radio show. Fischer is one of the many overly religious christian crackpots of prominence. I think she was from Calvert County, MD, and bull****ted the host. Sounds like she took lessons from Krause, no? -- Guns don't cause problems. Gun owner behavior causes problems. |
