WTF happened?

Greg started an actual boating thread. It got 3 replies that were that
were related to the the thread he started.
The 4th reply was "You can't shovel your own sidewalks?"
It went all downhill from there.
So out of about 87 replies 3 were related to the subject of the thread.
Typical. He's smart to leave.
Who wants to read that crap?

I was think it'd be great around here for that same thing Wayne. Lakes and rivers is all we have. And the Wabash river can be fun but can be shallow for even an 18 ft runabout with I/O. Lots of room on the thing for the creature comforts too!

Just lookin..

Greg could probably speak to this better than I can but I'd think that
with a jack plate on the outboard you could probably run in less than
2 feet of water. The risk is getting stuck and not being able to get
off but there are some tricks to help with that. First trick is to
run aground *slowly* and don't try to power your way through the
shallow spot. :-)

Is that really supposed to be funny?

Ahh, I remember that. Greg asked if any of us Northerners were close to
being able to boat, Don said he still had a ways to go weatherwise, and
the snow was still there but being removed, and then one of the usual
suspects jumped on Don about snow shoveling. Some of these boys just
can't let it go.

Sounds like a reasonable question to me.

I passed on the pontoon. It would Neva great deal but I figured out I didn't need a barge. If I was going to use it about every other weekend and didn't have to haul it back and forth to the lake that'd be different. But I have two boats already that don't really get enough use.

So I hope. The new owners have fun with it. Now that the weather is getting nice. It's time to prepare what I have.

It was a fun dream though...

Dreaming about boats is never a bad thing. Buying them is when the
nightmares start. :-)

A 30' pontoon boat is a helluva big boat. We're going down to Lake Anna State Park in
July sometime, and I'm going to rent an 18'er for a day or so. It'll give me an idea
if I like such a thing!

Wayne, I can totally agree with your comment!

Yes John it IS a big boat and I'd still consider a pontoon that size if I was going to at least spend a couple weeks to a mnth on the thing, doing long distance river runs. But though the wife is, I'm not retired yet, and being a sole shop keeper with no employees I'm limited to my leisure.

So I'll remain a "holiday" boater for a while I suppose...
