My point about the .500 S&W is perfectly valid. Quick followup shots
are a bitch, and if you miss the bear, the bear is going to have you for

Define "quick". I am sure a guy who shoots one regularly could get
back down in far less than a second.

Who shoots one of those cannons "regularly"? I'd bet on the grizzly bear
and, of course, that is such a distinct possibility in SE Florida.

I seldom go to SE Florida.
I also have no interest in a "50" anything.

Oh. I thought when you said a guy who shoots a .50 regularly could get
off additional shots in a hurry, you had first-hand experience firing
the weapons.

I don't play NFL football but I know when a quarterback completes a
pass.
I have seen guys shoot hand cannons and the guys who do it a lot are
pretty comfortable with them ... including that Casull.
I did say "less than a second" and that is a pretty long time for a
skilled shooter to get back on the same target.

I like SE Florida, but I also have no interest in 50 caliber weaponry.

Where did SE florida come into this in the first place?
If I bought anything 50 cal it would be a Barrett but I really have
zero use for one.
Maybe if I lived in Fumbuck Arizona or Montana I might have a place to
shoot one but there are not that many 1000 yard opportunities anywhere
I might be.

The poster who allegedly is buying the hand cannon lives in SE Florida,
where, apparently, griz roam the subdivision.

I read that Barretts are great for knocking over two liter soda bottles
at 1000 yards. There must be something else a civilian can do with one,
but I'm not sure what. Groundhogs?
