I will leave at least an inch when I build mine. If you have a metal nibbler you could cut the D shaped feet in the bottom part of the metal before you break it over, leaving the Ds sticking down. Quick and clean Plan B would be to cut out the runners and pop rivet them on the sides after you shape the scoop. Just make a tapered thick plastic wedge on the bottom. Run the back of the wedge on the shingles. |
