I hear you. It got so cold here last night that my banana trees and
bougainvillea wilted. Supposed to be 80 tomorrow, though.

I didn't even lost my coconuts and they are not as tough as bananas.
The bananas are fine too,
My recording thermometer said 36F.

We had a high of 42 today. it was kind of nice actually. no breeze and a lot of sun. It's gonna be back in the teens and low 20's this coming week.

Couldn't believe the temp this AM - at 7:30 it was over the freezing mark.

It's 65 and sunny here in SWFL with a high of 80 forecasted. I'm
going out for a spin in the Searay later on when it starts to warm up.

How's the Mosin Nagant shooting going?

I've received the sniper version. Haven't shot it yet. At least I can see the reticle
in the scope and the target very clearly. Now I need to figure out, for a 25yard
target, where the crosshairs should be aimed to zero the gun for a 100 yard target.
Will give that a shot Monday.

I've given up on it for the time being. It's not a particularly fun
gun to shoot, at least not for me. Meanwhile I've been given a loaner
M-1 Garand in nice condition. It feels very similar to an M-14 which
I have always liked. Ammo is much more expensive than the Mosin
however.

Maybe if you were in Russia, you could buy US Army surplus ammo at a greatly reduced
price!

There's an M1 Garand for sale at the shooting range. Beautiful. Looks like it just
came out of the box. But, $1650 is a bit too steep for me.

I'd probably do better with the Ruger range rifle, like YKW.
