Default Krause approved- Like feeding Prime rib to rabid dogs.

This is what happens when children run the state dept. Maybe in World War II if we were nicer and more empathetic to the Nazis and Japanese, they would have seen the error in their ways and stopped their desire for world domination? Umm... nah.

I think Dave Burge said it best: Them: God willing, we will restore the Califate and hasten the hold apocalypse as written in scripture. Us: So you're saying you want jobs?

Unfortunately it does appear the best way to control these people is
with a US friendly oppressive dictator.
At least that is what we decided in Egypt and what we are leaning
towards in Syria. We like to talk bad about Assad but things will be
worse if he goes and we do not seem to be making it happen.
The only real criteria we seem to have is they have to lay off Israel.
Sisi agreed to that so we let him overthrow the democratically elected
government without a whimper from our state department..

Greg, I know I'm out of the loop but wasn't the democratically elected president setting himself up to be king forever so that caused an overthrow?

Thank you for the compliment Krause. I'm glad to see I can be a role model for you.
