Harry, it's still 'name calling' and considering the dimpled Ruger- I wouldn't doubt Wayne's word.

He may well have a Ruger Mark III with a dimpled barrel, but if he does,
I doubt Ruger shipped it out "dimpled." Further, Wayne claimed many or
most barrels on the Mark III's were shipped that way.

I bought a Mark III in its first year of production and have kept an eye
on the line since then. There have been many variations, but none I
recall with "dimples" for set screws on the barrel.

Muzzle devices for Mark III's can be screwed onto a threaded barrel or
affixed by removing the front sight, attaching the device with a screw
into the sight hole, and then screwing the front sight back into a hole
in the muzzle device.

No matter how you slice it, your barrel comes up a bit short.

At least my barrel comes up, Dimples. How many pills do you have to take
before you can get yours to pop?

What are these pills that you're taking? Maybe your barrel is just
too old and under worked.
