Same reason that when I asked about the brass cased ammo he bought at below market prices, he clammed up and then finally said it may have come from Cabelas, which runs higher than most mail order stores.

Or when he's always quoting what ammo current costs are, then says he doesn't keep up with the market and his buddy in Virginia makes his bulk purchases for him.
