Ok 'red dot'. I have a couple old ones that are 'green dot". Same thing only different color. Ymmv but I never cared for them. They're great if you like em though..

Left to right...

Winchester 1892 Carbine in .357 Magnum. A really sweet shooter.

Colt AR-15 in 5.56/.223, with some modifications, and more to come.

S&W AR-15/22, with a scope. .22LR, and great fun to shoot.

Hey, if you going to fight off the zombies... :)

None of that will matter when they come to take you away.

So there's no magnification involved?

My guess is that "they" are more interested in drug and gun runners like
you, eh? :)

No, not with the typical red dot. But you can buy an external magnifier
that sits on the rail behind the red dot. The "dot" is projected, as it
were, on the front glass. You can also increase the size of the dot and
its brightness.

This guy is a tad overdramatic, but he does show the features of the
Vortex SPARC II, which is one of the red dots I have.

Hey, a nice collection if I may say. I will hang on to mine.

Taurus .357 revolver.

Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9MM

Mosin Nagant M91/30 Russian rifle (1939)

Chinese SKS Type 56 modified.

Mossberg Model 500 Pump shotgun.

If the zombies come I think I have it covered.

And you can probably hit something with yours also!

The Mosin Nagant looks nice and clean. I just bought one for my
son-in-law and am still trying to decide whether to clean it myself or
let him do it. By Christmas I'll have made the decision...maybe.

I think if you shoot the Mosin you will want to keep it. I love shooting mine.

Mosins are a great rifle. I don't personally have one but I have several other vintage battle sticks of the same era.

Who knows. Maybe the SIL and I could have a joint de-cosmolining
session.

I have one of these that offers the best of both worlds. It's on my
"shooting" AR15 at the moment.
