Greg she was definitely lucky. Those things can as you know be vicious.

A 12ga. slug would do the job unless it's charging at you. Then 2-0 steel buckshot would probably be a better choice. At least that's my thought.

What's the gun of choice for hog hunting?

You need something that hits pretty hard but a slug in a shotgun is
the easy choice. They also like 308/30 08 class 30 cals.
There are guys who go with .44mag revolvers but they better be good.
I imagine my .,44 carbine would work but I still like the slug idea,

It depends on whether you have dogs and whether you have backup I
suppose.
Folks used to say Auggie Doggie looked like a "hog dog". Being from
Arcadia, it was certainly a possibility. He certainly wasn't afraid of
much

75# bull dog mix.
http://gfretwell.com/ftp/Auggie%20on%20watch2.jpg

Surely Wayne, who describes himself as a terrific shot, could drop a hog
with that pellet rifle he keeps advocating from, say, five yards away.
At the very least, it would be entertaining for observers and the hog.

I am not sure I would want to be there with a .223 either.
That is a heluva round if you want to inflict grievous wounds on a 100
pound 3d world teenagers but when a 400 pound hog with 5" tusks is
charging you, knockdown power is king.

That may be a bit overstated tho. My wife ran one off in the scrub by
yelling at him and hitting him in the nose with her (thrown) Nextel
brick. Everyone agreed she was lucky. The rangers carry shotguns with
slugs.

Oh, I wouldn't want your wife on the losing end of a fight with a wild
hog. Wayne, though... what the hell.

So, Wayne, what are the "futures" prices on the drugs you'll be peddling
next year off your boat in the Carib?

Just because you are opposed to abortion doesn’t make you pro-life. Your
morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a
child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed, not a child
clothed, not a child able to see the doctor. That’s not pro-life…that’s
pro-birth.

OMG. For playing such a tough guy on the internet, you don't know to
*never* tuck your thumb inside your fingers when making a fist? You'll
break your thumb every time.

You ball your fingers into a tight fist, and tuck your thumb *outside* the fingers tightly.

I guess they don't teach that in liberal arts skewl. Make a note of it. :-)

Another informationless moron. I didn't break my thumb and I didn't say I
did. Yet another reason to not take rec.boats seriously.

"was fitted for a much

Supports your thumb and its pieces and parts. Uh huh.

Oh, and the only thing sub rosa is how you actually broke your hand. That's a secret, eh? :-

Sprains there, according to my doctor and occupational therapist. Bone
fracture on other side at wrist healing nicely. No secret...I hit a guy
*really hard*. Got almost full movement back outside of soft cast. My
doc wonders if I broke the other guy's jaw. Dunno.

Heh. A cast for a sprain, and no cast for a fracture.

You're a hoot, old man.

I'm betting the basement stairs.

The original cast for the fracture came off today. I'm casted up again,
but in a lighter model.

BTW, an "occupational therapist" comes after the cast comes off. You know, when there's no longer a cast, and you can actually *do* therapy.

Heh, heh.

Telling lies over and over does not make them true

You were playing with your new I phone and tripped over a curb. You
were trying to protect that flimsy thing when you hit the ground and
sacrificed your wrist.

I am sure a bit of osteoporosis contributed. It is common in old women
and men with low T.

Wow...*distant* medical diagnosis from a high school grad who fixed
electrical stuff and looks like a refugee from Duck Dynasty.

Doubt if he could make the diagnosis but it's safe to say he read about
your plight when you made inquiry's on that medical forum to the
osteopenia thread. There were several markers that positively identified
you. So spin away.

It's common with old folks with dementia. You go along with their fantasies. Easier than trying to introduce them to reality.

The doc was trying to quickly ease him out the door and collect his fee.

I notice you are fascinated with the Robertsons. I bet you would suck
Phil Robertson's dick for the chance to get a little piece of the Duck
Commander ad account.

Actually, you're more the redneck dick sucker. Oh wait...is that

His injury just sounds like all the other old people around here who
fall and break their wrist.

Funny you should mention that although it's not funny for those
afflicted. Has anyone else noticed a change in Harry? I have. It
reminds me a bit of the personality deterioration that we saw with
Skipper before he finally went totally off the deep end. I wonder how
is wife is coping and whether or not she is seeing the same changes we
are. It would be ironic if Skipper and Harry both end up in the same
state of affairs as Ronald Regan.
