Default Nor'Easter

The Nor'Easter that Wayne accurately predicted has now moved away from
our area. It snowed most of the day but the ground is too warm for it
to stick.

It was starting to clear just as the sun was setting and it cast a
weird, pinkish-red color to the sky that was very pronounced. It only
lasted for a few minutes but I was able to take a quick camera shot from
the house looking out at the barn. The reddish hue in the sky
complimented the red of the remaining tree leaves and the Burning Bush
in front of the barn. Looks artificial, but this is exactly how it
appeared:

I'll try to forecast better weather next time. :-)

Truthfully though, it is the storms that really attract your attention
when you see them start to develop. We have found the GFS forecast
model to be very useful down in the Caribbean where reliable local
weather forecasts are hard to come by. We can even get small pieces
of it via Single Sideband Radio if we're in a place with no internet
service.

Reminds me of that old ditty...

Red sky at night, sailors delight
Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning

Yeah, the red hue that was cast everywhere was really weird. I've seen
red skies before but not as vivid as it was yesterday.

We see it at times in the mountains. Sort of the Alpen Glow.

I have only seen something like your red glow maybe a couple of times in my lifetime. Beautiful but eerie at the same time.
