Default The Convenience

The convenience of a gun when you "go over the edge" cannot be
overstated. And excellent tool for solving problems when you just
can't take it anymore.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) -- Authorities say a Washington state man fed
up with barking fatally shot his neighbors' dog in front of them. But
the corgi apparently wasn't the one barking.

KIRO News reports (http://is.gd/PvKtNu ) that David William Latham
faces charges of felony animal cruelty, among others. His attorney,
Adrian Madrone, says his client feels terrible.

Police Lt. Bob Vander Yacht says Latham admitted he shot the dog and
that "something made him go over the edge, beyond reason."

Authorities say Latham walked across the street Saturday, aimed his
gun over his neighbors' backyard fence and shot the dog. Owner Loyce
Andrews says her husband, Cary Chunyk, ran after Latham but stopped
when Latham brandished the gun.

The dog died in the backyard.

Other neighbors heard a dog barking and whining at a nearby home for
hours after the shooting.

Corgis are tough...so obviously Latham had to stand his ground.

Bad way to go about it, but a lot of barking dogs deserve to be put down.
I have a neighbor whose daughter moved home and brought 3 siberians. Damn
scary dogs in a pack.

Corgis tend to bark a lot, but they are relatively small dogs,
well-tempered, and certainly not scary. Shooting a neighbor's small dog
because it barks means you shouldn't be allowed to have firearms. The
shooter probably will get off with probation. He ought to get at least
six months in jail.

Get more time for killing a dog than a person these days. And what would
jail time accomplish? Get another person on welfare? Community service
would be both cheaper and better for society.

There is one up the street from me that is pretty aggressive. He tried
to bite me once and Auggie Doggie RIP picked him up by the head and
held him there a minute before letting him go. The corgie hasn't
messed with me since.

Probably tried to bite you with good cause...
