And to even consider for a second that harry represented the facts properly and honestly would be pretty foolish... Just sayin'. There does seem to be a bit of misdirection if not pure bull**** in Harry's cut and paste rant. A guy who graduates high school at the top of his class and performed as well in undergrad school does not sound like an "affirmative action" student. His mother worked at least 2 jobs most of his life and concentrated on his education. Harry must be profiling when he assumes there was that much public assistance. Maybe he is just prejudiced against poor black people. It's been documented. If you are that interested, it is easy enough to find. Here's an interesting quote from Carson himself: Carson, in his book, tells how his grades improved tremendously when a government program provided him with free eyeglasses because he could barely see. Not only that, in “Gifted Hands” we read this nugget: “By the time I reached ninth grade, mother had made such strides that she received nothing but food stamps. She couldn’t have provided for us and kept up the house without that subsidy.” Dr. Carson is an example of what those programs are intended to do. Not all will become neurosurgeons but the programs are intended to give motivated people an opportunity. Unfortunately not all take advantage of the government programs and the become dependent on them for life. So which one of the leftist blogs/news outlets that you subscribe to sent you that data sheet on Carson? Can only mean that the Dems are becoming a little concerned with Hilary's waning popularity. Carson was helped by government every step of his way, and now he and his supporters want to deny that help to others. Horse****. Where and when has Carson and his supporters said they want to deny welfare, food stamps or educational aid to underprivileged people? He's stood for just the opposite, citing his own experience as an example. He is, like many, against continuous handouts for those unwilling to help themselves. This is just Harryspeak bull****. |

Almost everyone I know, and most of them lean toward being conservative, are perfectly willing to help people who are willing to help themselves. |

I wonder what the difference is between welfare now and welfare 50 years ago when Benny's mom was collecting? Did his mom have subsidized internet, a subsidized smartphone, subsidized housing, a fuel allowance subsidy , job training subsidy, child care subsidy, subsidized prenatal care, subsidized formula, free medical care, free dental care, free vision care, free prescriptions. Did she drive a car with $3,500 worth of tires and wheels on it, was little Benny wearing $150 Nikes, did she have gold lining her teeth was she having babies to get more welfare. There are welfare mothers getting more in benefits than my wife and I get working 110 hrs a week. It has become a lifestyle for way to many, and very understandable why. There is no shame for living on it, it is enough money to live better than most human beings on the planet. Mikek --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Maybe they'll hire you as a Full Patch Fluffer. |
