Misleading. As a real rail gun is an electro magnetic accelerator. Will
fire a metallic "bullet" at extreme speeds. Problem over the years has
been the guide rails. The projectile is so fast the rails wear out in a
few shots.

Oh I do know what a 'true' rail gun is, but My dad described the Colt .45 auto as a term from ww2 if not before that...

He probabl;y means a gun with the Picatinny Rail system. That is a

universal mount for all sorts of optics, lasers and lights.

OTOH a "rail gun" is a magnetic accelerator that can get something

going real fast (like "launching into space" fast)

I could agree with that but like DI told Bill, the "Rail gun" term was used way before the accessories were even thought of.

Greg, I suppose it would be like dedicating "maw-deuce" as being a "chain gun" or a muzzle loader as a "smoke pole"

Yes, that is the "rail gun" I am familiar with...

Did they have a Picattiny rail for mounting accessories?

Yes. You need to get the bayonet,

http://www.laserlyte.com/collections/pistol-bayonet, it is the perfect

option.

That might make it hard to holster!

Nah, just push it down in there hard. Really hard!
