The Dutch are having much the same problem with mute swans. They're overrunning the country in some places. Busting the eggs does little good, mama just lays more. So they find the nests and drill a small hole to bust the yolk sack. Keeps mama on the nest for months. They're laws prohibit the shooting of the things also. We know one Canadian who is infatuated with a silly goose. Too bad Harry cant be more like a mute swan sans the poop. |
