He shot a kid. He gets into fights with his current girlfriend, twice that we know of, and twice the cops show up. As with many abused women, she decides not to press charges. He breaks furniture and computer gear. He gets a series of speeding tickets. What's the distortion? The bar incident, as described by you, is overblown. The girlfriend recanted her claim of him threatening her. Lots of married people don't get along and fight and argue. Where's the evidence that he physically attacked or abused his wife or girlfriend? Lots of us have hit or wacked something out of frustration and broken it. For a while there, I felt like doing that to my iMac. :-) Oh, you're right though. He got a couple of speeding tickets. Oh my. |

Of course the cops in a Florida redneck town with a long history of racism aimed at blacks decided Zimmerman was simply defending himself. The fact that he had called the cops BEFORE he was assaulted by Martin and the fact that he had obvious injuries made it pretty clear he was attacked and that he was defending himself. The jury agreed. Get over it. The cops and the DA made the right decision that night. A year of bull**** and pontificating by everyone from newscasters to POTUS did not change anything. There was a trial and a jury agreed with the initial assessment. You notice DOJ has done nothing and there was never a civil suit. If that happened, all of the evidence about what a thug Martin really was would be fair game. It seems to be lost on you that both Martin and Jordan Davis were out of control juvenile delinquents who were so bad that their mothers could not handle them anymore and they were sent to live with their estranged fathers, who did not seem willing to actually try to control them. Statistically they were both destined to die young, in a pool of blood. The only thing that was unusual was that it was a white person who shot them. Factual and very well said. |

It's all about attention. Ooooh. Aging right-wingers. Ooooh. Funnier still, W'hine, one of the denizens of my dumpster, thinks I am envious of my fellow old farts who inhabit rec.boats. Envious of what? Not having anything to do in my dotage but puttering around a pool or fixing up an old boat or an old motorcycle or playing golf badly or living in a part of Florida I didn't like to visit much when I lived in Florida or believing in superstitions or perhaps hating black people, young people, Latino people, women, students? Or perhaps making heroes of white thugs who kill black kids? Nah. Not a chance I'd be envious of any of that. I only have one regret in life, one that I've never mentioned here and never will. Rec.boats is, after all, just as W'hine describes it...a trash can inhabited mostly by hate-filled right wingers. Any attempts to "make it better" will fail because the hate-filled righties here can't let go of their hate. I'm just here for the laughs, and to be here when rec.boats finally sinks beneath the surface and slides down into the abyss of that 55-gallon drum of used oil that probably is in Scotty's back yard. What would the sinking of rec.boats do for you, foad? Would it please you that no one was here to give you attention? I'm just here for the sort of unintentional humor you and your fellow right-wingers post in rec.boats. If I want intelligent on-line discourse, my friends and acquaintances on Facebook are available. Oh, and a goodly number of them are political conservatives. I will say this for you, though...you do have a nice wife. I haven't seen her or you in about 10 years, and I do hope she hasn't turned into the female equivalent of the bitter old racist you are. |

If you'd like to make the group better why don't you start by giving up your inflammatory comments about the closely held beliefs of others? Fact is that you are nothing but a dysfunctional troll. In article , says... It seems to be lost on you that both Martin and Jordan Davis were out of control juvenile delinquents who were so bad that their mothers could not handle them anymore and they were sent to live with their estranged fathers, who did not seem willing to actually try to control them. WTF? The Davis kid was clean. You got any evidence he was an "out of control juvenile delinquent?" The kid was a teenager and black. The guy who shot him was white. There is no claim other than the shooter's that the kid in any way threatening. The shooter didn't tell his girlfriend what had happened, he drove away from the scene, and while he was in jail made all sorts of nasty racial comments. Naturally, he was able to duck the murder charge. What would you expect? |
