Yes, they can be loud but there's a simple device on the mixer called "main volume". :-) No, I was talking about the humongous thing next to the bookcase! Oh. That's a Fishman SoloAmp. They are popular with acoustic/electric guitar players and singers. It too can be loud but has gain and master volume controls.
