BTW, I had thought of taking my Guzzi 750 engine and mounting it to a jet pump an putting it in a small v aluminum boat I have. Don't see any reason why that shouldn't work.... It depends on the loading curve of the pump and your engines hp curve. It's a fun project but consider cooling and weight. Also thin aluminum is a bitch to work with. Any old jet-skis/wave-runners sitting around for cheap? http://www.meanchicken.net/webmain/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=12968 Oh it was just a passing thought. it's not going to happen. But I did think it would be an interesting project. I wasn't really worried about the load on a trash pump, but more concern was shrouding the engine for cooling. BTW, in the 70's Guzzi used that same V-7 (750cc) engine on industrial cement mixers!! |
