If that was supposed to be a clever remark on your part, you need to hang out with a brighter crowd. I thought I was, Harry. I replied to you didn't I? I don't find it amusing to read about these poor kids suffering as they do because of situations they had no hand in creating. But, then, I'm not a right-winger. Then don't sit by with a bleeding heart, set up a relief fund and adopt them. Move the whole family into your house for that matter. That's what many people did during the great depression. Both my grand parents took in people and helped them get jobs at least until their 'guests' could be on their own. You can too. And BTW, the girl on the front page of your link looks happy, and well clothed. Also it looks like she's been eating healthy. I didn't know you could find healthy food in the inner-city? Mc.Donalds? yeah, those are not the poor I lived among.... Those kids had a flat screen, new shoes, and piles of clothes etc... Maybe they can't do Disney for the Christmas Holiday, but it looks like they have more disposable income than I had coming up... D'oh. They are living in a crowded shelter. Crikey, this place should be buried, the right-wing stench is so bad in here. A crowded shelter is still better than a cardboard box in some ally. Harry, if you don't like the "right-wing stench" then why do you always post here day and evening. Evidently you must like it. Yes, I suppose to right-wing Christians who only pretend to follow the teachings of Jesus, a crowded shelter is more than adequate for children. Keep your heart bleeding Harry. Move those 200+ kids and their families into YOUR home. I do enjoy reading a small number of posts in which self-described followers of Jesus pretend to be following those teachings but in reality pay no real attention to them. I am especially enjoying the havoc the new pope is creating among the overly righteous. I'm no a Papist so I dont' follow the actions of the Pope. Well, of course...why would you be interested in his remarks...after all, you're not a papist. Funny stuff. -- Religion: together we can find the cure. |

Right? Whether they are Catholics or not, hundreds of millions of people around the world are interested in what the Pope says or writes. He's got lots of your fellow protestants up in arms with his dismissal of prosperity theology, among other things. ![]() -- Religion: together we can find the cure. |

Harry still thinks the Pope was referring to those folks in the US who are getting welfare, but live in an apartment, eat regularly, have a TV , cell phone, etc. He needs to read something like this: http://www.clicktop10.com/2013/08/to...world-in-2013/ or, look at something like this: http://tinyurl.com/l2cagz5 Then maybe he'll understand what the Pope meant by 'the poor'. I put that link up as an example of what the Pope was talking about. It sure as hell wasn't the welfare recipients in this country. John H. -- Hope you're having a great day! |
