Came across a boat, a Pegasus 800.

Does anyone have any info about the boat.

What are your opinions about the boat?

Thanks

Ridgeway Marine Basildon Essex built Pegasus 800's. They also produced
Express Pirates, Pegasus700, 800 and Prospect 900's. I built my Express
Pirate from a ridgeway kit. The quality seemed adequate albeit low cost but
she sailed well and won several pots and stood up to heavy use surpringly
well. I seem to recall the Pirate was designed by Ian Proctor but not sure
who Pegasus range. I think, for the price the Pegasus was considered
locally to be a respectable modest club family cruiser/racer. Think they
were available in Fin Twin and Centreboard models.

hiya
Pegasus 800's had a brilliant reputation for a light weight racing boat
with a good interior. But unfortunately at some stage the company who builds
them had some troubles a few years back and started to scrimp on the
construction to try and save some money.
Several boats had floppy hull syndrome and the decks would bend if you
walked on them, Get an extensive survey and point out to the suveyor that
you want the hull and deck checked for strength.
I see many of them on the broards and they look good and sail fast.
