http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nati...icle-1.1455200 Jacksonville, Florida, still has a high school named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederacy general, a founder and first grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, and the officer who was accused of slaughtering hundreds of black northern soldiers after they surrendered. When we lived in northern Florida, there were efforts underway to get the name of the school changed, and I thought by now it would have happened. The Army has many forts named after Confederate generals, none of whom were really opposed to slavery. The Union Army, in its prisons, slaughtered many, many Confederate soldiers who had surrendered. Write to your president. He'll fix it, like he has all the other bull**** he promised to fix. Let's see....are we out of Guantanamo yet? Here's a real goody: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCSrP44QgZ4 -- John H. Hope you're having a great day! |
