Not recent information but....

My Grandfather had two Luhrs boats. One was a lapstrake (around late
1960's) and the second was an early 1970s Fiberglass (33 Ft.)

The lapstrake continually leaked. He replaced it with the fiberglass
Luhrs and it is one of the best boats I've ever been in. It had
twin Perkins diesels. Handled rough water quite well (he berthed
it at Terminal Island, Calif). Spent lots of time in the Catalina channel
with it.

I've seen a few for sale out here (Sacramento River Delta area) and one
of these days, I just may buy one in his honor.
