I am used to the term " to illuminate" with regard to a laser to be target designation, not "to illuminate" in the sense of putting light on something so it can be seen, such as with a flashlight. Obviously the laser installed on handguns don't light something up so you can see it. They just put a spot on where you are aiming. Illuminate to me means light up - as in United Illuminating Company of Connecticut ![]() |
