Funny, but when he was in Congress...

....I thought Joe Scarborough was way too conservative for my taste. But
his party has moved so far to the right, in Republican terms, he's
almost a centrist.

He said this about his party on Friday:

Republican Joe Scarborough stunned political observers by blasting his
fellow Republicans for their hostile posture towards minority voters on
MSNBC’s Morning Joe Friday morning.

In a surprising outburst, Scarborough chastised Republicans for
antagonizing gay and lesbian Americans, Latinos, and African-Americans,
groups who care deeply about gay marriage, immigration reform, and
racial discrimination, respectively.

“You take Trayvon Martin, it would have cost republican leaders
absolutely nothing,” Scarborough said, “absolutely nothing, to just show
a little respect.”

“It doesn’t cost you anything to stay off of talk radio or prime time
cable news shows where you get in the middle of this divisive debate and
send a message to African-Americans and other minorities you don’t
care,” he continued.

“The Republican Party right now is sending out signals,” Scarborough
warned. “If you’re not white, you’re really not welcome in this party.”

“These people on talk radio, these people on cable news that are saying
these things that are driving off the very swing voters we need to get
elected to the White House again,” Scarborough concluded.

Among the really crazy Republican/Conservatives, Scarborough no longer
is considered "one of them." That's probably a good deal for Morning Joe.

You have to wonder which bat**** crazy the GOP is going to nominate for
POTUS in 2016. At the moment, Rand Paul is the leader of the
pack...another really nutso conservative, and a racist, to boot, *and*
he's no better on his feet with facts than Rick Perry.

That's swell, but wouldn't you rather talk about you? We can have more
fun with that topic.

Scarborough may be half considering a run for the Republican
nomination. He has support from several influential people and groups
who are encouraging him to at least consider it.

In the end, I don't think he will though. He has made himself look
like an ass many times on Morning Joe and has become more of an
entertainer than a politician.

Being a federal elected official is no fun these days, what with one
party controlled by the crazy tea baggers. I'd rather have Morning Joe's
current job. He gets to do what he wants to do, say what he wants to
say, have fun with his guests, and take home bushels of bucks.

HE doesn't seem to be the sort of conservatrash that controls the GOP
these days.

He is just trying to hold his time slot on a very liberal TV station
in the face of Fox that has almost 3 times as many viewers in that
slot. It is a fine line he has to walk.

If he had to run in a primary, I bet he would bend back to the right.

Not having Fox viewers might well be a good selling point. Who wants to
attract the terminally stupid?

Advertisers!

I've tried a couple of times over the years to watch Fox News dayparts.
I understand the extreme right-wing slant on almost everything it
"reports" other than some hard news, but, crikey, the stupidity that
comes out of its programs and hosts is just beyond the pale. There
doesn't seem to be any significant for those blondies except hair color,
white teeth, tits, and the inability to understand what they read off
the teleprompter. I don't watch "nightime" Fox.

I see the Five now and then. Usually 3 of the 5 are morons but when
Beckel and Perino are discussing something it can be interesting.
Both are White House veterans. (Carter and Bush)

Record it and keep your finger on the FF button.

Why? :) I should expose myself to *more* stupid on Fox than I see when
I flip channels?

Ahh, but you do have Raechel, who can read a prompter but sadly doesn't
have any of the desirable female atributes
