Pavilion? As in...dance pavilion? Gazebo? I'm not familiar with the use
of that word in reference to a neighborhood. Elucidate, if you don't mind.

It is what they call the shelter in the park here. Whimsical perhaps,
for a concrete slab with a roof over it and 10 picnic tables. The
"elders" still got upset when the kids sat in there smoking dope and
drinking beer. When I was the president I used to have to go down and
move them along from time to time.
If I saw no illegal activity going on, they could stay (hint hint).
Once we had an understanding, things went a lot better.
Usually they were just sitting around with "iced tea and skittles" by
the time I got there ;-)

By golly, those awful kids!! You should have shot them like Zimmerman.

They probably didn't attack and try to beat the **** out of him.

To bad the white guy who got attacked by two black dogs in the name of
Treyvon Martin tonight, didn't have a gun...

.. Zimmerman had said, "Hi. My name is George Zimmerman. I'm the
neighborhood watch guy. It's raining pretty hard. Do you need a ride home?"

:)

It is a good question but the answer still might have been "**** you
cracker" and a punch in the nose.
I agree we would like to believe that a more civil exchange might have
had a better outcome.

I have asked people in our neighborhood who they were and what they
were doing in our pavilion a number of times without incident but some
of my neighbors think I am crazy for doing it.

I have thought about carrying my flashlight/zapper.

I'm bright enough to leave the policing to the police.

In my case it was the kids in the neighborhood, 99% of the time. Why
hassle them with the cops?

Because saying that fits his agenda and garners responses from you guys...
