It's raining pretty hard. Do you need a ride home?" :) ----------------------------------------- Have you heard the accounts regarding Zimmerman's involvement in organizing a protest against the beating of a black homeless guy in 2010? I recently learned about this. It's something the liberal media certainly hasn't focused on. The guy was roughed up by the local police. Zimmerman reportedly appealed to the NAACP for help and resources in generating a protest. The NAACP said they didn't have any resources or funds to help, so Zimmerman had flyers printed up and hand delivered them to several predominately black churches in the area. This story is also easily found, but was not brought up in the trial or been given much media coverage. It's one of the reasons that federal hate crime charges will probably *not* happen, despite the drum beating of Al Sharpton and others. |

I agree we would like to believe that a more civil exchange might have had a better outcome. I have asked people in our neighborhood who they were and what they were doing in our pavilion a number of times without incident but some of my neighbors think I am crazy for doing it. I have thought about carrying my flashlight/zapper. I'm bright enough to leave the policing to the police. Most decent communities have a 'Neighborhood Watch' program. Are you trying to make a point? If so, what is that point? I'm bright enough to leave the policing to the police. THEY give that very same advice. Of course, the vigilante mindset people don't heed the advice of police much. I simply stated a fact, Kevin. If you're not familiar with the neighborhood watch program, that's not my problem. It is what they call the shelter in the park here. Whimsical perhaps, for a concrete slab with a roof over it and 10 picnic tables. The "elders" still got upset when the kids sat in there smoking dope and drinking beer. When I was the president I used to have to go down and move them along from time to time. If I saw no illegal activity going on, they could stay (hint hint). Once we had an understanding, things went a lot better. Usually they were just sitting around with "iced tea and skittles" by the time I got there ;-) By golly, those awful kids!! You should have shot them like Zimmerman. |

Why hassle them with the cops? Because saying that fits his agenda and garners responses from you guys... |
