Up here I see Home Depot boasting about their Behr deck paint...good for wood or concrete.

Same in Florida. I wonder about it myself. I am not really dealing
with a "deck" but my pier is getting pretty rough. We always wear
shoes on the boat so it is not a huge deal.

The guys on Alt.home.repair warn the coverage is vastly over
estimated.

I don't remember what the estimated coverage is, but it doesn't go real
far! But the result is just plain awesome!

There's this stuff being advertized. Shows a bunch of yuppies in capri
pants dancing bare foot on the deck... Two companies seem to make it,
any ideas, is it just thick paint???

"What stuff" ? With no reference or link who knows what you are
talking about?

I don't know what the hell it is, that's why I posted the subject "what
about (and here's the tricky part) *deck paint*?". Not sure if it's
really deck paint but there you go...

If it's the stuff they call "Restore" I think I would pass on it.
I've seen some commercials for a covering for older decks with
weathered wood. It even claims to seal splinters.

If this is the stuff you are thinking of, I'd pass on it.
Apparently the finish is similar to the sprayed bed liners in trucks.
Not very appealing.
In fact, I think Home Depot no longer sells it.

And so far, I really, really like it. It's not nearly as rough as bed
liner spray.

Yes...

The stuff they've been advertising on TV with the "yuppies in capri
pants" is THIS:

I am just wondering how it holds up on wood that might go under water,
like my dock

All I know is that adhesion to a wood deck that is surrounding the pool,
so far, so good.
