Here's the eBay listing:

I'd love to have it if it was 50A. The price is right.

Yeah, I thought about you but figured your behemoth was 50 amp.

Everybody is sellin' something here. I'm thinking of putting my custom
CZ75 SP01 Shadow 9 mm semi auto pistol up for sale. The current model
new is $1350+. I'm trying to decide whether I really want to sell it,
and for how much. It is the most accurate and smoothest operating semi
auto I've ever handled.

Nice but unfortunately the People's Republic of Massachusetts will not
allow me to purchase it. :-)

I've never been able to figure how particular firearms get on the
"approved" or "not approved" lists. I wonder if baksheesh is involved.

Don't feel alone, Harry. I've never figured it out either.

Will they allow you to purchase a Kimber .45?

Nope. On the "banned" list. Only 1911 types permitted are Ruger,
Remington and S&W.

Now *that* makes no sense whatsoever. I wonder what difference in the Kimber vs the Remington 1911
types cause the addition of the Kimber to the banned list.

It's a complex issue in this state. Approval is required by two
different state agencies, one being a state safety testing lab and
the other being the state Attorney General's office. To be approved
every model by every manufacturer has to be approved by both.
Capacity, gun design (safety features, etc.) must all meet certain
criteria, including drop tests and other destructive testing. In
order to get approval the manufacturer must submit a number of guns of
each model (I think it's five each) to the state for destructive
testing. Then, when that's all over, the AG's office gets involved
and their determination is far more subjective. As a result, many
manufacturers have basically told Massachusetts to shove it and don't
bother even trying to get their products approved.

Non approved firearms built before a certain year (I think it is 1998)
are grandfathered however the gun must have been originally sold and
remained in the state.

If I were the guy at Kimber, I'd tell MA to shove it also.
