Anyone live in the Philly area?

I have to attend a meeting in June in downtown Philly and the schedule
indicates I will have an entire weekday with nothing official to do
between the sessions I will be attending.

It's been a long time since I've been up there. I've seen the Liberty
Bell. In fact, in my youth I had relatives living in Philly and made at
least a half dozen visits to the city to see them and the sights.

So, what else is there to see that is unusual, different, compelling?
And can you recommend any lunch or dinner restaurants that are worthwhile?

I'll be limited to public transportation or cabs...taking the train up
there from DC.

Thanks for any interesting suggestions.

The Eastern State Penitentiary is pretty cool, it was built in 1820's,
and the Reading Terminal Market is a fun place to eat, and while you're
there, at the terminal, the Masonic temple is cool and three blocks
away.

Thanks!

There used to be a famous used book store in Philly, but it's been gone
for 40 years.
