tieing the boom will not prevent a jibe, It will only prevent the boom
coming over. Have you ever thought about what happens in windy conditions if a jibe occurs and the main is on the wrong side because of the preventer? It is not a good thing. The boommaster should be considered, it makes the sail come over slowly if I understand it correct. "Jeff" wrote in message ... A friend was telling me about a product review in 48 Degrees North magazine about a device to prevent accidental jibes. Something called shockles. Found their website, www.shockles.com. Anybody have any experience with these? Look like they might work? Thanks. -- Posted by news://news.nb.nu |
