Image stabilization has come a long way since the Korean war however. You can now buy binoculars with minature elecronic gyros that are almost unbelievably good. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything comparable in camera technology other than the really high end professional gear. Hand holding a long telephoto lens on a moving boat is very difficult but if you push up the ASA number to 400 or so you can use very fast shutter speeds. |
