The kid wasn't armed, was drunk and a neighbor from two doors down.

This is what Merika has come to...

At 2:30 a.m., how is a homeowner supposed to know that an intruder is unarmed, and when the intruder is six feet tall, what difference does that make?

The kid lived "just two doors down," in a flop house with transient residents the rest of the neighbors wouldn't recognize either.

Here's what happens to homeowners who live in liberal paradises where they're not able to own guns for self-defense.

When the burglar alarm is ringing, a large male is coming up the stairs, and you're not Chuck Norris, my advice to you is: pull the trigger. Stop blaming America for the actions of irresponsible people -- in this case, the intoxicated teen, his friends, and his parents.

Merika, where we shoot first and ask questions later.

Nobody said that... you are still nothing but a liar. Now tell us why
your guns were taken away? Did you have an incident?

Calling others a liar after YOUR track record???? Want me to repost some
of yours?

Are you blackmailing him?

Climbing in a stranger's window in the middle of the night is a pretty
dangerous thing to be doing.

He might have about 10 seconds to explain himself but it would not
take much belligerence to shorten that window.

Good answer. In 10 seconds you'd probably find he's drunk and in the
wrong house.

Fortunately I have a big yellow dog that handles most of that 10
second interchange. That takes me off of the hair trigger status and
gives me time to assess the situation. I really do not want to shoot a
neighbor's kid, even if he was a burglar but if I felt my family was
threatened, bang bang.

I assume that JPS has never had to deal with a belligerent drunk.

My prior work used to put me in touch with them frequently. And no
one said the kid was beligerent. He was doing what 1000 kids did this
past weekend after too much to drink, they were trying to sneak into
their own houses undetected. Unfortunately this kid wasn't busted by
his parents but an overeager asshole who shot before he could properly
assess the situation.

And now he'll live with the image of having killed someone's child who
meant no harm to him. The kid was just trying to go home.

Sickening and there are plenty of idiots in this group calloused
enough to find justification. This country is ****ing nuts.

I do hope you educate your kids about the perils of breaking and
entering in the nighttime.

No one was breaking and entering. Went through an open window into
what he thought was his own house.

The guy who shot him looks to be a loon. I understand how you might
easily relate to him. Perhaps you should reach out to your fellow
loon in his hour of need.

The window was open? No screen? The guy didn't have the looks you like?

Well ****. No wonder you're ****ed.

Well, he probably will say so, and tell lies about how he's contacted
the proper authorities, all of his friends know, blah blah.
