Draft dodging implies some sort of shady activity to avoid military service, such as what Ted Nugent or Dick Cheney did. I did precisely what the law required: I registered for the draft and was assigned to a local draft board in New Haven, I kept the draft board informed of my student status while I was in college, and I kept my draft board informed of my address afterwards. And, like the majority of men in my age group, I wasn't drafted. End of story. Same here. Some people, like Al Gore, volunteered for VN. I had no interest in killing people. I knew a lot of people who went to Vietnam. None of them went because of an 'interest in killing people'. Most went with a fervent hope they would return on an airplane seat and not in a body bag.
