I find it shocking that he did not first check in with us here on
"rec.boats" to get our opinion. How could he ignore such a great

Marc Ouellet would be an interesting choice, but I think the money is on
Angelo Scola.

A Canadian Pope would be outstanding but I wonder what Johnny and his ilk would do if one of those darker cardinals from Africa was selected.
Oh my, guess who's coming to dinner.

He'd become a southern white baptist, of course.

I really don't see what the problem would be, Don, there have been at
least three from Africa - Pope St Victor I (ca186-198), Pope St
Miltiades (311-14), and Pope St Gelasius (492-496)

And with all i can find out about them nobody seemed to care

Nobody you hang with Tim. Seems to only be an issue with the race
baiters here...

The problem is that herring is a racist. I wouldn't care if the pope had
green skin or pink hair

Donnie and ESAD must strive for attention in any way possible. They do come up with some weird ****
though.

I'd bet that a black Pope would do a lot more race relations than our black president has done.

My wife is Catholic. And she and her friends know it will be another very
conservative Pope. Not a progressive as most Catholics in the US and
probably Central / South America would like. The voting Cardinals are all
ultra conservative. sort of like both our major political parties. At the
extreme ends of the scale.
