Looks like a pretty good target stand. You can fill the bottom with
sande or water to keep it in place when there is a bit of wind.

If he fills sections of tube with something solid, or seals the ends of
a couple of the base tubes with sand inside, he can break it down and
carry it in his bag without filling and un-filling the base...

That's the plan. Small bag of mortar mix ought to work well. I'll just fill the bottom 'feet', but
leave them unglued so I can disassemble them easily.

The only issue I see is getting the mortar plugs to not shrink when
setting and fall out.. Might have to put a screw or a dowel through the
side of the pipe before or after setting the mortar??

Um, how about non-shrink grout.......

Just be sure to rough the surface of the pvc so the goo will form a
mechanical bond..

No need, non shrink actually expands somewhat, and has bonding agents to
adhere even to smooth steel.

Thank you mr, engineer... but in the real world....

You stupid little twit!!! In the "real world" non-shrink mortar has
bonding agents to adhere to smooth surfaces. But, I know you are insane

then will you shut up?

Yeah, you are right.. Let's not spend the time to put a screw in there,
because "on paper" it will never fail.. LOL..

WTF would a screw do if it's going to shrink, it's going to shrink an
exact and equal amount at the screw as well, moron. PLUS, non-shrink
grout has fiber reinforcing, so you are really just giving it a place
for a stress crack with a screw, then from there is just starts breaking
up until you have loose rocks in there. Good plan.

We did try them but in the end they were no challenge. It's always a
hoot when someone posts that *we* somehow are *different* than other
warmongering nations. I suppose *they* are not taking into account the
wholesale slaughter of the indigenous populations here or, for that
matter, the number of deaths on both sides in the Civil War. It's sort
of like saying that christianity doesn't have the same sort of bloody
history as the muslim religion.

A. I haven't dodged you. I simply see no purpose in meeting up with you.
What would the purpose be? To see in person that you are a short,
ignorant ****head? I already know that. I am up in Connecticut at least

B. I have no idea what you mean by "Does everybody sleep their way to

The native americans were the vanquished where the white devils were the
victors. It may not be fair in your eyes, it may not be nice in your
eyes but, it is what happened. It is the story of expansion and conquest
across time. I don't know why people get upset when the natural order of
things is played out with man just like it is with the animals.

Same here. The state has a very nice free range but with a $3 parking
fee when you enter the park ... for anything.
There are about 6 different actual ranges. One out to 400 yards, three
100- 200 yard courses, (pistol and rifle), a 100 yard .22rf course and
a shotgun course where you can throw clays. It is about 40 minutes
away tho

Did you say, "Native American?" What WERE their chances for a fair

A trial? What the hell was I thinking?

The native americans were the vanquished where the white devils were the
victors. It may not be fair in your eyes, it may not be nice in your
eyes but, it is what happened. It is the story of expansion and conquest
across time. I don't know why people get upset when the natural order of
things is played out with man just like it is with the animals.

Because we've evolved as a species to go beyond that, at least some of

again, at least some of us have.

Same here. The state has a very nice free range but with a $3 parking
fee when you enter the park ... for anything.
There are about 6 different actual ranges. One out to 400 yards,
three
100- 200 yard courses, (pistol and rifle), a 100 yard .22rf course
and
a shotgun course where you can throw clays. It is about 40 minutes
away tho

I practice with my firearms. The practice makes safe handling virtually
automatic for me. You and yours are firearms accidents waiting to
happen. I wonder how long the wait will be.

You held it up to the phone, dry fired it and said "do you know what
that sound is?". That is not practicing, but do go on...

Why are you so concerned about imprinting governmental institutions
with Judeo-Christian symbolism? If you were a Hindu, Bhudist,
Muslim, Native American or whatever, would you feel that your chances
for a fair trial were improved?

Did you say, "Native American?" What WERE their chances for a fair
trial?

Natural order of things? Really?

So, if I decide I want to take what you have, it is natural that I
dispose of you and your family and take possession of that which I
care to take? In your eyes, I am merely a victor and you are but the
vanquished and nature has taken its just course. It is what it is, and
therefore that is all of the justification necessary?

You don't seem to have a grasp of history do you?

I guess that is the only reason I still come here; to witness the
hilarity of the twisted logic and revisionist history held by the
angry right-wing gray-hairs that live here 24/7/365.

We appreciate your attendance.

Carry on, I'll check back in a week or so and see what other
ridiculous contributions you have made.

Right... why is it you progressives all look down your noses, from under
your desks? So far, every time one of you is exposed, turns out you
don't have a let to stand on. And then when you do tell of some great
conquest or prize, it turns out to be nothing but a "lobsta' boat"...????

This from the fool that hides behind usenet and comes here just to tell
lies about others and explodes in insane rants. Notice, if you will,
that Scotty didn't do ANYTHING to address the discussion at hand, just
post some off the wall crap that has nothing to do with it.

It's about 40 minutes up 75. That is not horrible. When I was in DC I
drove farther to work every day and it usually took longer.

I have to drive to Tuckers Grade just to get on to I-75.

Right now, coming from Puerto Rico by boat, it would take a little
longer.

Yeah, but you can throw an attached float off the stern and shoot to your heart's content. Or, do
you not carry a firearm?

I normally don't carry on the boat. Cruising internationally the
rules vary a great deal from country to country and getting caught out
of bounds for even minor infractions (like an ammo count discrepency)
can mean loss of boat and/or jail time. Of course a signaling device
like a 25 mm flare pistol could also make a formidable (albeit scary)
weapon in an emergency, and then there are the non-lethal options like
bear spray, etc.

My home built stand was made from 2 inch water pipe stands and cross
bar at thee top. Then we welded chain to the crossbar to suspend a
16x16-7/16" thick steel plate. From up to 300 yards with big
bore... . shoot, hit (DING!)

It worked really well for quite a while that is until I over adjusted
the windage on my M1 Garrand and shot a chain at 250 yards..

Broke the sucker and threw it in the junk. The plate was all shot up
anyhow.

Wayne, I'm sure that the rules for carry in port can change at no
given notice as well.

Don't need a stand now anyway. I cancelled the Quantico membership. If I buy the Barrett .50, I may
reconsider just so I can use the 1000 yard range.
