It's professional sports. It's not important. ----------------- Must have been important. Our US postal service tossed a lot of money in to bike racing. I guess any professional business is unimportant to to you. Here's a good article on what Armstrong could and should do to rehab himself. I'd hate to see the Livestrong Foundation flounder because of his doping. http://tinyurl.com/ahldvvo Excerpt: "Patton: I'm willing to bet a lot of what prompted his admission is the realization that there are a lot of people who are dependent upon the success of that foundation. There are a lot of people who have invested time, talent, and resources into its success, and I believe he recognizes the good it's done and what it needs in order for it to go on. While he'll always be inextricably linked to Livestrong, it's in many ways time to create distance between the message and the messenger. Livestrong was all about overcoming odds, working hard, pushing the boundaries of what you can accomplish physically. So to find out that all of that was supported with the use of performance-enhancing drugs totally eradicates the core brand DNA. It would almost be similar to if, during Michael Jordan's basketball career, people had questioned why he could fly so high. From Nike's perspective, and Michael's, it was Air Jordan, but [it would have been damaging] if we found out Michael had jet propulsion in his sneakers." Salmonbait Lance Armstrong, another Republican that thinks it's okay to cheat if it's for the right reason and you don't get caught. Not like a crisis of consciousness got to him. He was outed. Colin Powell just castigated his own party for trying to suppress minority votes. Why is it that these "conservatives" think it's kosher to cheat? Read up on the DC city council, and then get back to me on Republican cheating, Salmonbait One example versus a nationwide movement. Again, it's in the conservative mindset to lie, cheat and steal as long as they can get away with it. They don't even seem to care if they're found out. |

And you talk about a conservative mindset? What have you been eating lately. Hopefully you didn't take ESAD's handle to heart! You and John are in a contest to see who is the most narrow minded. It is more than just a little funny that Snotty Scotty, who hasn't accomplished anything in his entire life, is whining and lying about Colin Powell. General Powell is a man of great intellect and accomplishment. If he had wanted the job, he probably could have been elected President of the United States. You don't have to agree with all or even most of his positions on issues to admire Powell's service to his country in a variety of important military and civilian jobs. And Scotty? He remains the inconsequential greaseball of rec.boats. Stand up alongside Colin Powell and be Proud, Krause. Wonder if krause has ever done anything worth remembering in his life... From what we have seen, no.... not a thing. Who's we? Trying to claim representation of the other imbeciles in rec.boats? As stupid as some of them are, I don't think they're stupid enough to endorse having you represent them. You wouldn't recognize brilliance if it slapped you upside the head. In this case, he's correct, 'we' have seen, no...not a thing worth it. Salmonbait -- 'Name-calling'...the liberals' answer to a lost argument! |
