I've also Metro'd in to see the Nats play, and that goes right through Anacostia, too. Over the years, I've been on commerical and large scale residential jobsites all over DC, including Anacostia. I've parked in Anacostia and walked several blocks to job sites when onsite parking wasn't available. You'd think by now I would have seen a few reasons for those hot spots, eh? Lucky? You also notice they said there were not enough hotel rooms and that DC was $322 million in the hole (in spite of huge federal infusions of money) We stayed in Maryland and took the rapid transit in to DC in the late 80's when we took the kids there. Took the White House tour of the East Wing at 8 am and then got a private West Wing tour in the evening. Lots of things to see in DC but most were like the monuments and the Smithsonian. Mt. Vernon, etc. But we were in an 27' RV for the 7 weeks we toured the country. |

Hit by a ricochet during the annual qualifying that was required. We were using pistols and a round must have hit the frame, and hit me in the leg as I sat behind the firing line. |
