What if retired Police Officers or Officers who for other reasons can't
work "the beat" anymore were given enticements (pay them extra) and/or training (for upper level grades) to become School Teachers or Aids, Principals, Janitors, Guidance Counselors, Gym Teachers, Cafeteria Workers, etc... and allowed to carry concealed weapons? Scott Ingersoll South Windsor CT [That was the "pithy" part, below are my further comments in the conversation, I have left out my friends comments for their privacy.] "My thinking here is if you have armed and uniformed security gurards, they would be the first targets. If you infiltrate the staff, nobody really knows who or where they are at any given time during the day" "Like I said though, if you are a "security guard" you are a sitting duck for someone who takes you into account. If you are serving lunch or mopping floors, coaching gym, you are more effective in my mind" "These guys and women have been more scrutinized and profiled throughout their professional career than any teacher will ever be, they are experts at conflict resolution, trained listeners, trained body guards, and most of all... they are cops. If there is any one demographic I would trust with my kids, that's it" You may use any or all of these thoughts in any way you wish, Thanks again Bill and staff, Scott Ingersoll South Windsor CT |
