Not really, John. But they usually leave out the original proclamation

Yes, but thanksgiving wasn't a holiday until Lincoln.

I'm thankful! And one of the things I am thankful for is not
worshiping YOUR God.

This is a bad day in history for native Americans because of the white

We did the usual turkey thing and took a short boat ride while the
bird was cooking.

Food was good and the ball game was more exciting than most, although
I bet Shultz wishes he had the replacement refs back.

For a change, I watched the football game. What a joy to see the Redskins beat Dallas. Add that to
the list of things to be thankful for. Fixed a smoked turkey and BBQ ribs. Both were great.

sacrafice on behalf of others, for people who spend their lives

Oh I plan on it Scott. But I won't be eating very much of it. I have 2
deer tags and plan on using them this week. I was going to go hit the
woods and see if I could drop a deer or maybe two, but unfortunately,
I had to attend 'the hen's club' meeting, so today that canceled my
hunting appointment.

Anyhow I'll be donating the processed deer for food pantry
distribution through the Sportsman Against Hunger program. I've
participated in the program for the past 15 years.

What a stupid thing to say. Because someone doesn't subscribe to
believing in God, they have nothing to be thankful for?

Your density isn't measured in mass.

To whom do you give thanks?

Stupid question. How about family and friends, to those who
sacrafice on behalf of others, for people who spend their lives
helping others.

There's million things to be thankful for that have nothing to do with
the cosmic muffin or the hairy thumderer.

We can all thank Mother Nature for not killing more people during
Sandy.

Very good. I especially like the last one - something almost spiritual about that!

I hope you transmitted your thanks to all those folks in some meaningful way.

Did you think "God" was listening when you transmitted yours?

I'm not an atheist, by the way. Just don't like it when ignorant
dweebs judge and disparage my fellow Americans for exercising their
personal beliefs. Even if they're fake Christians, they're entitled
to their freedom of religion.

People who cry about losing their "freedoms", while disparaging
atheists need a head examination.

Is judging your fellow Americans only for you and your fellow self-
appointed overlords?

There is a grain of truth in his comment. " disparaging
atheists need a head examination."

Because they don't believe in mythical sky creatures?

Not really, John. But they usually leave out the original proclamation
of "A Day of Thanksgiving and [Prayer]..." by President Geo.
Washington in 1789

Well, I wonder to whom they give thanks.

So in your very narrow mind, a person can only give thanks to a god of
some sort?

Atheists can't be thankful?? Damn you are dumb.

Well, Kevin, I was just wondering to whom they gave thanks.

I'm not "Kevin", Asshole John, but do you think you can only give thanks
to a god? Which one? Zeus?

Happy holidays Tim, now go shoot something and eat it:)

I wonder if you could use those tags in Fairfax County. I could put you on a whole herd of the
buggers within a few blocks of my house!

You wonder if he could use an Illinois deer tag in Virginia?? Damn you
are stupid!
