I am looking at purchasing a 1999 2858' Bayliner that sank in fresh water in a clean northwest lake! I understand that i will probably have to replace all wiring, instruments, interior and go through the motor. I built boats for a living at a local factory so much of this i can do myself. They are asking $3600 for the boat but i think i could get it for around $2800. would this be a resonable deal or should i still walk away from this boat like so many people would do?

Spend the money you would use to rebuild this boat, and buy one that's
not soaked to the core.

man, there's too much to consider here. Like hows the engine etc. was
the boat retrieved and the the enging fluched out and 'pickeled?" or
jsut left full of watyer. If so, I'd say the engine is junk. I

It depends on how much you want to put into it. But Id say that buying
a submerged vessel and rebuilding and rebuilding it might be a bigger
task (esp. financially) then you wish to get involved with.
