A good old fashioned thunderbolt on occasion would put the fear of God into his so called servants. |

I have some relatives by marriage who are conservative christians and who spend their time and money doing what good christians are supposed to do...raising money and helping those in need, rebuilding storm damaged housing, visiting the sick in hospitals and supporting those who are grieving. Those are the christians who give the religion a good name. Then if you must make religious posts why don't you post about the good that they and others like them do?The good far outweigh thee bad. What I rarely see them do, though, is castigate those who behave like jerks in the name of the religion, like the Lewis or like those insane folks in florida who demonstrate against servicemen killed in action. And that's just it. Who are we to complain too? Granted, the Westburo and the Klan types are about as disgusting as can be but, what are we to do? Burn 'em out? Blow 'em up? That don't work either... Perhaps more collective and vociferous pointing out that these bozos and their crazy "churches" have nothing to do with christianity, and that they are anathema. You don't have to complain "to," as it were, but I think it is important to point out. Ok, and who do you point them out to? They show their own ugly colors. What gets me is he is concerened about folks who knock on doors to "ask" if they can talk to you, but he is not concerened with the likes of ACORN and folks who work every day to subvert the Govt and steal your vote... |

It's amazing to me how these guys can lie without remorse or consequence. Messing with nuns on matters of morality have gotten Ryan the comeuppance he deserves. The problem is that poor people have been marginalized by those who want to categorize their success as the result of being smart, clever and industrious, completely leaving aside that it also takes luck and a system set up for mobility. That mobility has been curtailed thanks to the wealthy cornering all the resources for themselves. The poor will remain poor and the middle class will continue to suffer from the pillaging of the wealthy. But that won't stop idiots from voting against their own best interests. |

If this were true, how is it that this collection of nuns found it necessary to mount a bus tour to advertise the evil of the Republican budget plan written by Paul Ryan? Should we all be silent like so many who watched the Nazis gut Europe? Precisely. Ryan made a point of trying to claim his "plan" followed Catholic dogma and, of course, it was the antithesis of Catholic teachings and preachings. Ryan and Eric Cantor win my prize for uncaring assholes of the universe. |

I love the line from "the Christians" who are part of the conference complaining they are being treated unfairly. Christians, eh? Nothing christian about them, however it;s whacks like those who set a standard for *all* Christianity to be judged... right?
