His finances must have improved dramatically over last year since he

I hear there's money in picking up bottles and cans and returning them
for the deposit.

You don't know anything about what I do or don't do. We run a small
business, sorry I didn't suck the teats of the state for 20 years
pushing a broom like you but I have other aspirations in life other than
being a failed parent and a drunk...

It was fine. Cooked ribs and chicken for an informal type of cul de sac

While you were celebrating cul-de-sacs, the rest of us were observing
Memorial Day.

I was offshore, fishing.

I couldn't go boating this weekend. Local lakes and rivers are way to
shallow for comfort. We need some northern rain badly. No- we need
some local rain badly. It's really getting dry around the midwest.

We had a good little t-storm last night that dropped about an inch. Won't do much for lakes and
rivers, but it saves me a week's worth of watering grass!

We have enough heavy dew here to keep the grass green, but that's
about it.

Had thunder, lightning and heavy rain showers here last night.
Dog woke me up at 0230hrs by nudging my arm.. d'oh! I thought he

Guess what? Europe is officially back in a recession. Unemployment is
up, profits are down. But not here in America. Not yet anyway. And
the
reason? While European countries inflicted huge cutbacks in
government
jobs and services, American government invested in the private
sector.

True, government jobs and services are on the downturn in the US, but
the difference is that while Europe exercised austerity measures,
America had a stimulus package.

Despite the hand wringing and protests from the right, the federal
government single-handedly saved the American auto industry. Had the
Republicans been in power in 2008 we would no longer have an auto
industry in America today. And millions more would be out of work.

What concerns me is that this could have a ripple effect on our
economy.
Will Europe?s economic woes, based on Republican ideals of economic
austerity, translate into a recession here, despite our best efforts
to
create an economy that is slowly but surely improving?

And Americans need to ask themselves if they are better off now than
they were at the end of the Bush regime. A regime that seems to have
brought down the world economy in the blink of an eye. They need to
ask
themselves that question, because the answer is invariably
?Uh?.yeah.?

Although we've been enjoying a warmer, dryer spring than usual, our

Dog woke me up at 0230hrs by nudging my arm.. d'oh! I thought he
needed to pee.. but he just wanted to find out what the booming was
all about.

So what did you tell him?

It was another of dem loudmouthed southern boys bellowing for more

He went back to his bed secure that no threat was present.

That was WAY beyond stupid.

Dog didn't think so, Kevin.
It assured him that all was normal in the world.

One more time, you old fool. Do you want to bet $500 that I'm not Kevin?
You said you would before, but backed down!
