We burned about 2 gallons of gas, 2 people and a big yellow dog. The
ride was nice and not too crowded back in the mangroves. Ed saw an
otter. He wanted to go swim with it.

We saw a pretty big ray. I think every boatowner on Chesapeake Bay was
out on the water today, at least it looked like it. Even so, didn't see
anyone in trouble or acting dangerously.

The wife and I took the runabout (Searay 270 Sundeck) for a nice
cruise up Pine Island Sound to Boca Grande Pass this afternoon. We
went out through the pass to watch some of the action at the tarpon
tournament - big mob of boats, some looking like factory teams but
most appeared to be mom and pop family boats. There are definitely
some big tarpon out there in the 6 to 7 foot range, We had a few
jump right next to us for no apparent reason and it really gets your
adrenaline going. Only out there for an hour or so but saw a bunch
of hook ups near by. The water is over 40 feet deep in many parts
of the channel and most of the tarpon looked like they started heading
for the bottom as soon as they wee hooked, very few fighting on the
surface. Most people were fishing light spinning rods and were
really struggling to get the fish up to the top.

After an hour or so of watching the tarpon fun we headed farther north
up the ICW to the town of Boca Grande which we had never before
visited by boat. It's very quaint and nautical, very reminiscent of
a little old New England harbor town. There's obviously a lot of big
old money there and some of the most elaborate covered boat houses
I've ever seen. We topped off our gas at the Boca Grande Marina, big
mistake at $5.49/gallon, most I've ever paid in the USA.

After cruising the shore line in Boca Grande we headed back out to the
ICW just south of Gasparilla Pass and started heading back down
towards Pine Island. For a little variety we took the back route
through Matalacha Pass (pronounced Matt La Shay) which is always an
interesting run down through the Pine Island back country.

Back home about 4:30 PM, 80 nautical miles, 4 1/2 hours, about 40
gallons of fuel.

Yes, for the first time in 5-6 years there were a LOT of boats on the
water. I hope that is a good sign.

Most seemed to be newbies, judging from the number of boats trolling
with fenders.

Strictly speaking, to newbies, they are bumpers.

I notice the other place where you post, rec.boats.cruising, is near
death, too. Coincidence? As I have stated numerous times, I hang around
here a little because of morbid curiosity. I want to see who actually
turns off the 10-watt bulb on this usenet "discussion group" and shuts
and locks the door. My guess is the troika of JustSnot, iLoogy, and
Oscar, with a healthy serving of Herring and Canuck on the side.

1. Yes, I am sure you have yards full of crappy little rowboats and
suchlike, whereas we only have one really nice trawler-style boat, an

No worries. As I stated, I want to see who actually turns off the
10-watt bulb on this usenet "discussion group" and shuts and locks
the
door. My guess is the troika of JustSnot, iLoogy, and Oscar, with a
healthy serving of Herring and Canuck on the side.

Why would you care. Apparently you don't have much else going on in
your
life. It must really suck to be you.

This is what he does... When he dies, the world will be a better
place...

Actually, what I *do* is enjoy my boat, which I did yesterday, and I
also *do* work that brings in money and what I also *do* but strictly
for comic relief, is read some of your posts and indirectly, your
reach-around buddy, Oscar.

Since both of you are boatless for all intents and purposes, what are
you doing here?

You are boatless also.

And I am not boatless, in fact we are starting a new build this week
too....

A new build? Another little rowboat? You make it sound like you are
building something substantial. Which you are not.

I own more boats than you, I boat more than you, and unlike you I
actually have a business that makes money for us to live on... You spend
your sisters money on sex toys from your basement. Remember the time you
complained about the targeted ads on google popping up nasty stuff when
everyone else was getting ads for Toyotas, beer, and Guitars??? LOL!!!

1. Yes, I am sure you have yards full of crappy little rowboats and
suchlike, whereas we only have one really nice trawler-style boat, an
inflatable dinghy, and a canoe. I hope to use the canoe next weekend out
on the Shenandoah, weather permitting.

Sure harry, first off, everyone here knows you wouldn't tell us where
you were going, with so many people in the world who would love to put a

Actually, what I *do* is enjoy my boat, which I did yesterday, and I
also *do* work that brings in money and what I also *do* but strictly
for comic relief, is read some of your posts and indirectly, your
reach-around buddy, Oscar.

Since both of you are boatless for all intents and purposes, what are
you doing here?

You are boatless also.

And I am not boatless, in fact we are starting a new build this week
too....

A new build? Another little rowboat? You make it sound like you are
building something substantial. Which you are not.

How the **** do you know you stupid old ****? You just sit here all day
insulting and then when somebody finally gets ****ed and wants to kill
you, you cry like a bitch.. Fact is everyone here knows you haven't done
a ****ing thing for yourself or humanity since your old man shipped you
off to Kansas to dodge the draft...

How do I know? Because when you build a boat, it is a rowboat.

You are a liar Mr. Dr. Karen Grear of Catholic University of America...
Hey, got any pictures of any boats you have built? Didn't think so...
Got any evidence you do anything but sit here all day long and troll the
internet, making folks miserable Mr. Dr. Karen Grear of Catholic
University of America?? Didn't think so....

He doesn't even have a picture of the boat he claims to own!

No worries. As I stated, I want to see who actually turns off the
10-watt bulb on this usenet "discussion group" and shuts and locks
the
door. My guess is the troika of JustSnot, iLoogy, and Oscar, with a
healthy serving of Herring and Canuck on the side.

Sure harry, first off, everyone here knows you wouldn't tell us where
you were going, with so many people in the world who would love to put a
bullet in your forehead....

A bullet in the forhead wouldn't do significant damage.
Let's take a breather and come back to this later, OK?

The only boating related activity harry has participated in in the last

This from a little twerp who was socially promoted out of high school,
didn't go to college and can barely read, and couldn't hold onto a job
stacking crates at a food warehouse.
