Norway killer admits massacre, claims self-defense

By KARL RITTER – 1 minute ago

OSLO, Norway (AP) — A right-wing fanatic admitted Monday to unleashing a
bomb-and-shooting massacre that killed 77 people in Norway but pleaded
not guilty to criminal charges, saying he was acting in self-defense.

On the first day of his long-awaited trial, Anders Behring Breivik
defiantly rejected the authority of the court as it sought to assign
responsibility for the July 22 attacks that shocked Norway and jolted
the image of terrorism in Europe.

Dressed in a dark suit and sporting a thin beard, Breivik smiled as a
guard removed his handcuffs in the crowded court room. The 33-year-old
then flashed a closed-fist salute, before shaking hands with prosecutors
and court officials.

"I don't recognize Norwegian courts because you get your mandate from
the Norwegian political parties who support multiculturalism," Breivik
said in his first comments to the court.

Eight people were killed in Breivik's bombing of Oslo's government
district and 69 others were slain in his shooting massacre at the
left-leaning Labor Party's youth camp on Utoya island outside the capital.

"I admit to the acts, but not criminal guilt," he told the court,
insisting he had acted in self-defense.

Not unlike your rationale for posting off-topic in a boating news
group, huh?

There is no rationale that could begin to describe the odd behavior of
Harry Krause. He is totally off the wall.

Let's discuss rational behavior, then.

Krause has come here for years, if not decades, and clearly stated
that he didn't come here to talk about boats. He clearly stated that
he was a flaming Liberal and that his sole purpose in posting was to
**** off Conservatives.

OK, now we have a clear purpose and the intent.

Even with all of this warning and explanation, the Conservatives have
been Krause's puppets, ever eager to respond at his beck and call.
Some have asked why people don't tell Harry to stop. Stop What? What
he specifically came here to do? Like THAT is going to happen. There
are no Internet police and Krause knows that. NOBODY can make him stop
but himself and he will NEVER do that as long as he is getting what he
wants: ATTENTION.

Krause's behavior is perfectly rational and reasonable for an old,
white, angry, aging, well-heeled, left-wing nut. How he (and others)
control the Conservatives here, in my opinion, is not rational or
reasonable and the fact that he can drop a half-dozen words and create
angry 300-400 posts long thread is nothing short of sick. (Especially,
when it is nearly impossible to get ANY sort of boating dialog
started.)

Yawn. You just make yourself silly with your obsessions about me. I,
after all, pay little attention to you.

I did "come here" for many years to discuss boating, but the interesting
boating discussions died off years ago. Most of the serious boaters who
post are on actual discussion groups, not on usenet. Even the "cruising"
usenet group has only a few boating posters these days.

I am indeed a liberal.

I am not looking for attention here.

I don't give a **** whether my posts get responses...or not.

I am older. I am not angry. I am aging (consider the alternative). I do
have a few buckaroos. On the scale of "leftness," I'm closer to the
center of leftness, and nowhere near "nutcase-dom."

Carry on.

You are older than dirt. You are hanging out over the edge of far out
wacky leftness. If it weren't for that attribute, no one would pay
attention to you. You are, after all a crashing boor.

Or should I continue to make you look

Why not do both?
