The only story we have is that Martin approached Zimmerman.
Unless there is a witness we have not seen yet, that will be the only
story we have. Everything else is speculation.

Not true at all. Zimmerman STATED that he "followed Martin".

He also said he had lost sight of Martin

I keep hearing that Martin did not need to explain **** but that is
not really true.
If you don't live in a gated community you do not understand. These
people pay thousands of dollars a year to live behind gates so they
will not have strangers walking around.
Every resident is part owner of that street, that sidewalk and the
grass in between. They have the same right to ask a stranger what they
are doing there as you would have to ask someone why they were walking
across your patio.

And the stranger has no right to just walk away?

Not really ... in Florida. On your property, you can pretty much shoot
them and that is particularly true if they punch you in the nose and
knock you down
Harry would shoot you for that and he lives in a "retreat state"

So if a man like Zimmerman approaches me at night in Florida while I'm
walking home I can't under law walk away?

You can certainly walk away but you can't punch them in the nose for
asking "what are you doing here" on private property.

And there you have it... it's not against the law to ask someone a question. It IS against the law to commit assault & battery.

"Going to my Dad's house." was the proper response. A little less attitude would have saved his life.

Oh, so a person in Florida is automatically supposed to just do nothing
when someone attempts to assault him? Then just what IS this stand your
ground law for?

Write 100 times:

"Asking a question is not assault."

But how do you know that the person asking the question isn't about to
assault you? Do you wait for him to do so?

something different here and it was the actions of Martin

Yeah, you're right. The guy was scared, he according to the phone
conversation with his girlfriend, tried to walk away fast. Now please,
you keep defending Zimmerman, so let's see this evidence you have that
"the actions of Martin" led to his death.

If you trust the girl friend, Martin never made a civil gesture to
explain who he was and why he was there.
After all, this is private property, behind gates and fences and
Martin was a stranger.
The fight appears to have started immediately after Zimmerman asked
"what are you doing here"? (again according to Martin's girlfriend.)
Presumably the question was answered with a punch in the nose.

I keep hearing that Martin did not need to explain **** but that is
not really true.

I wouldn't have said a word to Zimmerman. I would have just kept on
walking to the house where a blood relative lived.

If Martin had done that it would just be another gone on arrival call
for the cops. Instead he chose to confront Zimmerman.

Gee, the FOXites seem to think that the lefties are making judgement
calls, but the above is just hearsay. You don't know the facts.

If the property is
that private, I wonder who is called when police or firemen are needed.

They pay their taxes., They call the cops and fire department just
like you would for your private property that you have said you would
kill over.

Was the property properly posted with a sign that said, "Unless you live
here, keep out or our Doberman Zimmerman will chase after you with a
loaded firearm."

Pretty much. Have you seen the signs? They were photographed and put
out on CNN

All the signs said was that it was a neighborhood that had a
neighborhood watch program. It didn't say that you couldn't be walking
on the sidewalk.

Anybody with nothing to hide, and/or a brain, would identify themselves
if they were strangers walking in a clearly posted private property and
questioned by someone representing the clearly posted neighborhood watch..

I wouldn't unless he identified HIMSELF.

Anybody with nothing to hide, and/or a brain...

Really? So if a perfect stranger approaches you in the dark, doesn't
identify himself as a neighborhood watch vigilante, you would give that
person all of the information he asks for? That's stupid.

They also said trespassers would be arrested and prosecuted

Zimmerman had no powers of arrest and prosecution.

Well, the thing is this: In general, trespass laws apply to someone
infringing on private property to which he or she has not been invited.
Martin was indeed invited there.

"Well then"??? How about saying, "sorry I lied about him not being
private property, I will go read the police report before making an ass
of myself again here"...????????

You are ****ing insane! What you have just typed has NOTHING to do with
the way trespassing laws work.

once you get hysterical, I stop reading.... snerk

Do tell then, HOW was Treyvon Wilson trespassing? I'm sure you'll not
answer, you don't like it when those pesky FACTS get in the way of what
FOX has told you!

Nope, they are public streets.

Not inside a gated community.
As soon as you put up a gate, you own the street. In this case they
were NEVER government owned streets. The developer built the street,
the HOA owns the street and is responsible for maintenance. The cops
come in as visitors unless they are in hot pursuit, the same as it
would be on your patio.,
In our county they actually have a different bunch of deputies to
handle gated communities (a great gig by the way)

We went through this when some people here wanted our HOA to put up
gates. We would have been required to get the county to vacate the
roads and cede them over to us. then we would get no more county
maintenance. That was the show stopper.
Most gated communities are built from scratch and they never give the
roads to the county. (the county will not take them, even if you want,
when they are behind gates)

I am amazed at how little you people know about HOAs and gated
communities, yet you seem to have plenty of opinions.

This guy just refuses to look at any info before he makes up his next
troll... Amazing, he hasn't changed a bit.

I lived in a HOA in the eighties.. Just couldn't live that way, but it
was good as it convinced us to buy a house

Psssst, I'm on my HOA's board.......

Yeah, I could have guessed that...

Well then, tell me just how could you have guessed that?

How do you know that Wilson committed an assault and battery? But, I

Sad but true. Unfortunately we have raised a couple generations of
kids who are all about "attitude", particularly in the black
community.
If Zimmerman had been a North Miami thug like Martin wanted to be,
there would have been more respect shown.

Bull****. So, in the dark of night, a stranger comes up to you or
someone who is able to defend themselves, doesn't identify himself, so
you don't know what he intends, you are just going to offer him up any
information he wants?

You are still assuming Zimmerman "came up to" Martin. What is your
source for that information?

Because that's what did. He told police he got out of the car and
"approached" Martin.

Zimmerman says Martin approached him from behind and nobody has said
they actually saw anything different.
You can make up any fantasy you like but there is only one real
witness so far and that is Zimmerman.

See, that is the problem with Zimmerman's story. You and others because
FOX tells you to, instantly assume Zimmerman is being honest here.
